Doctor Ellis (Rich) is an experienced consultant neurologist based in Liverpool and the Wirral. He graduated with his medical degree from the University of Liverpool with honours in 2009. He also has a Masters (MPhil) in Neurological Sciences completing research in the disease modifying treatments for multiple sclerosis (MS).
Dr. Ellis continued his postgraduate training in Chelsea, London, Sydney, Australia, and the North West of England. His neurology speciality training was undertaken at the Walton Centre, Liverpool.
Dr. Ellis is currently the Clinical Lead for Movement Disorders at the Walton Centre in Liverpool, where he runs a general neurology and specialist movement disorder clinic. He is known for his expertise in the use of botulinum toxin to treat a wide range of neurological conditions, including dystonia, spasticity, hemifacial spasm, and blepharospasm, and has established a dedicated clinic for this purpose.
Dr. Ellis has also set up the first acute neurology clinic at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital and continues to provide an in-reach service for inpatients requiring urgent neurology assessment and expert management.
